Since 1974, the pipes, drums, and dancers of the Border Highlanders have provided Moscow, Pullman, and surrounding areas with Scottish Highland piping, drumming, and dancing. We play music for parades, weddings, funerals, and special events throughout the year, and each year in January the band hosts Moscow’s Robert Burns Dinner. We also act as the pipe and drum corps for the University of Idaho; when we’re acting in that capacity, we switch out our Fraser Hunting Ancient tartan for the bold colors of the Vandal Tartan.
In addition to providing a home for experienced performers, we teach newcomers. Individuals interested in learning to play the pipes can sign up for an Introduction to Scottish Highland Piping class through the University of Idaho (you don’t have to be student to take the course!).
Whether you’re looking to hire a piper or the band; want to learn to play pipes, drums, or learn to dance; or want to catch our next performance, we hope you find what you’re looking for.
